Celebrating Disability Employment Awareness Month in the Limb Loss Community

October is Disability Employment Awareness Month, a time to highlight the contributions of individuals with disabilities in the workforce. For those living with limb loss, the road to finding and maintaining meaningful employment can come with unique challenges, but also remarkable opportunities for growth and success.

At Less Leg More Heart, we believe in empowering amputees to lead fulfilling lives, and that includes advocating for employment opportunities that embrace their talents. Many of our beneficiaries have found new purpose through work, and we encourage businesses and communities to be more inclusive. In addition to peer mentorship, we provide resources and support to help individuals in our community navigate career changes, advocate for workplace accommodations, and find jobs that match their abilities.

As we celebrate the achievements of those with limb loss in the workplace, we encourage you to reflect on how we can create more inclusive environments for all. Share your own experiences with disability employment and learn how to advocate for better workplace accessibility.
